Zil Hajj moon sighted in Saudi Arabia; Eid ul Adha set for June 16

(Web Desk) — The Saudi authorities announced on Thursday that the crescent moon has been sighted in the kingdom, marking the first day of Zil Hajj on Friday, June 7, reported by Gulf News.

In a statement from the Saudi Supreme Court, it was declared, “Arafat Day falls on Saturday, June 15, while Sunday, June 16, will be the first day of Eid Al Adha.”

The outlet reported that Arafat Day will occur on the ninth day of Zil Hajj (June 15), with the first day of the holy month being observed on June 7 and Eid Al Adha being celebrated on the 10th day of Zil Hajj.

In Pakistan, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is expected to observe the Zil Hajj moon on Friday, June 7.
