LAHORE (Daily Point) — Punjab Police announced the arrest of Khalid Nisar Dogar, a prominent leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in South Punjab, in connection with the May 10 riots.

According to the reports, Dogar, also a PTI ticket holder from the PP-231 constituency, had been evading authorities and hiding abroad for several months. The arrest followed a substantial police presence surrounding his residence.

In a related development, Lahore Deputy Commissioner ordered the 30-day detention of PTI supporter Khadija Shah under Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) 3. This decision, dated November 15, came after an anti-terrorism court granted Shah post-arrest bail on November 8 in a case linked to the May 9 riots.

The detention order for Khadija Shah was issued based on recommendations from SP Cantt and the District Intelligence Branch. It cited her active participation in violent activities on May 9 and expressed concerns, backed by evidence, that she might pose a threat to law and order once again.

It is noteworthy that Khadija Shah had previously been granted bail by the Sessions Court of Lahore on November 8 in connection to a case involving the sharing of a provocative tweet.
