Aleem Khan issues statement on seat adjustment with PML-N

LAHORE (Daily Point) — Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) President Abdul Aleem Khan dismisses reports of seat adjustments with PML-N Abdul Aleem Khan, President of the IPP, addressed speculations about potential seat adjustments with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in the upcoming general elections on Friday.

Speaking in Lahore, Aleem Khan clarified, “We have not discussed the matter of seat adjustments with the PML-N in the CEC. A decision will be made after obtaining permission from the party’s CEC.”

He emphasized that if any party expresses interest in discussions with the IPP, they are open to dialogue. Aleem Khan highlighted the normalcy of political alliances but cautioned against turning political differences into personal conflicts.

Responding to Nawaz Sharif’s meeting with PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, the IPP president commented, “It’s positive to see Nawaz Sharif meeting with Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.”

Aleem Khan clarified that a meeting between Shehbaz Sharif and IPP patron-in-chief Jahangir Khan Tareen was a goodwill gesture and not centered around specific agendas.

Regarding a potential seat adjustment with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Aleem Khan stated, “The PPP has not approached us regarding seat adjustments.”

He underscored the importance of bolstering democracy for the country’s economic and security interests.

Recalling the events of May 9, Aleem Khan remarked, “There is no room for negotiation with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) after the May 9 vandalism.”

Taking a dig at the former PTI chief, Aleem Khan said, “The former PTI chief was keen on imprisoning opponents during his tenure, harming the country. He should face the cases against him.”

Addressing the newly-appointed PTI chief, Barrister Gohar, Aleem Khan stated, “I have never met Barrister Gohar. He was part of the PPP, and I had no affiliation with the PPP.”
