Rao Anwar reveals about Zardari, PPP’s corruption

KARACHI (Daily Point) — In a shocking revelations, former Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir, Rao Anwar Ahmed, has exposed explosive details concerning the former president and PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and the purported corruption within the Sindh government.

During an interview on a private TV program, Anwar did not mince words, accusing Asif Ali Zardari of orchestrating corruption amounting to a staggering Rs700 billion. He boldly asserted, “Asif Ali Zardari is the mastermind behind the system mafia. In the last five years, 700 billion rupees have been illicitly moved out of Pakistan.”

Anwar further disclosed that after 2013, the Sindh police had been involved in confiscating people’s plots. He criticized the Sindh government, claiming that instead of focusing on crime control, they were engaged in other activities, pointing out what he considered a weak policy in addressing criminal issues.

Known as Karachi’s most controversial cop, Rao Anwar officially retired from service at the end of 2019. Throughout his tumultuous career, encounters and accusations of corrupt practices consistently shadowed him. Despite facing numerous disciplinary actions and suspensions, notably after the Waziristan native Naqeebullah Mehsud’s murder, Anwar was later acquitted by an anti-terrorism court.

Anwar’s recent revelations add another layer to the intricate tapestry of Pakistan’s political landscape, unveiling serious allegations of corruption against key figures in the PPP.
