WASHINGTON (Daily Point) — A recent survey results that was conducted by Harvard-Harris revealed a stark difference in views on the Israel-Palestine conflict between young Americans (18–24) and older generations.

According to the survey, 51% of young Americans believe that the long-term solution is for Israel to be ended and given to Hamas and Palestinians. This contrasts with only 4% of Americans over 65 holding this view.

The survey, conducted between December 13-14 among 2,034 registered voters, shows that 51% of young Americans believe that a lasting solution involves ending Israel and transferring control to Hamas and Palestinians. In contrast, only 4% of Americans over 65 share this viewpoint.

The survey indicates a significant departure from other age groups, with 32% of young Americans supporting a two-state solution, a notably lower figure compared to their older counterparts. Additionally, only 17% of young Americans believe other Arab states should absorb the Palestinian population, while this approach is more favored among other age demographics.

Senator Roger Marshall (R-Kansas) expressed concern over these findings, attributing the trend to what he called “ideological rot” driven by woke values and victim culture. Marshall stated, “These individuals siding with evil over democracy should be a wake-up call.”

The survey also delves into opinions on recent events, with 60% of young Americans believing that Hamas’ October attack could be justified by Palestinian grievances, compared to 27% overall. When asked about Israel’s actions in Gaza, 60% of young Americans aged 18-24 believe it constitutes genocide, a view held by only 37% of Americans overall.

Alarming findings also include 53% of young Americans expressing the belief that students should be free to advocate for the “genocide of Jews” without consequences. Moreover, 67% of 18-24 year olds think Jews should be treated as oppressors, a stance contradicted by 73% of Americans who dismiss it as a “false ideology.”

While more Americans overall (85%) side with Israel over Hamas, young Americans are divided evenly (50-50), reinforcing earlier studies indicating a pro-Hamas sentiment among this demographic. The survey highlights the urgency of addressing divergent perspectives on the Israel-Palestine conflict, especially among the younger generation.
