KARACHI (Daily Point|) — The Sindh government has officially announced the designation of December 25 and December 26, 2023, as Public Holidays in commemoration of the birthday of Pakistan’s founder, Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, and Christmas.

A notification issued by the Chief Secretary outlined the public holidays for the upcoming week, applying to all offices, autonomous bodies, semi-autonomous bodies, corporations, and local councils under the administrative purview of the Sindh government, with the exception of those involved in essential services.

The notification specifically highlighted that December 26, 2023, would be observed as a Public Holiday exclusively for Christians, marking the day after the annual Christmas festival. The Department of Services, General Administration, and Coordination has officially communicated this decision through an issued notification.

In a separate development, Pakistan has granted visas to Indian Hindu pilgrims, allowing them to visit the Katas Raj Temples. This decision reflects a positive step towards facilitating religious visits and promoting cultural exchange between the two neighboring countries.
