ISLAMABAD (Daily Point) — The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has released an advisory instructing government officers and employees to refrain from engaging in any political activities.
According to the issued circular, government officials and employees are not allowed to partake in election-related endeavors, and the approval for the leave of government officials is contingent upon the permission of Returning Officers (ROs).
District officers must seek leave permission from DROs, while officers in provincial secretariats and directorates are required to obtain preliminary leave approval from the Chief Secretary, with final approval to be secured from DROs.
The ECP advisory stipulates that federal government employees up to the 19th grade can have their leave sanctioned by DROs. However, officers in grade 20 and above must obtain leave approval directly from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), as stated in the advisory.
