Zong increases mobile package rates once more

ZOng mobile packages

LAHORE (Daily point) — In the midst of widespread price increases across the technology and telecommunications industry, Zong has once again raised the prices of many of its mobile packages.

While the surge may not be substantial, it impacts several packages, with some also experiencing adjustments in their offerings on a weekly or monthly basis.

Amid these changes, certain packages have not only seen price increases but also subtle reductions in the allocated resources, such as diminished calling minutes at the same price point.

For instance, the Monthly Super Card now comes at a cost of Rs. 900 instead of Rs. 800, accompanied by an addition of 100 extra off-net minutes to offset the price hike. Fortunately, the Monthly Pro Max package maintains its previous price of Rs. 1,600.

However, the Monthly Digital Max Offer now stands at Rs. 1,500 without any increase in mobile data or calling minutes. The Monthly Supreme package has silently trimmed the total calling minutes from 500 to 350 off-net minutes while retaining the price at Rs. 999.

These examples highlight changes in monthly packages, but the adjustments extend to weekly offers as well. The Weekly Pro Plus package sees a slight price increase from Rs. 460 to Rs. 480 while maintaining the same resources. It’s essential to note that these costs recur weekly, resulting in higher cumulative monthly prices (Rs. 1,840 vs. Rs. 1,920 per month).

Similarly, the Weekly Pro now costs Rs. 460 instead of Rs. 440, with unchanged resources. The Weekly HLO and Weekly Premium packages also incur an additional cost of Rs. 20 each. Notably, the Super Weekly Plus witnesses one of the most substantial price hikes among other packages, with an increase of Rs. 40.

It’s crucial to recognize that these examples represent only a fraction of the overall price hikes for monthly and weekly packages. Additionally, Zong is just one of the network providers following the trend of recent price increases, with similar patterns observed across various companies in the industry.
