WhatsApp introduces in-app tool for creating custom stickers

WhatsApp

(Daily Point) — WhatsApp is unveiling an exciting and personalized upgrade to its sticker feature, allowing iOS users to easily create, edit, and share their own stickers directly within the app.

Previously, users had to resort to third-party providers or their phone galleries for sticker sharing. However, with this new update, a suite of in-app editing tools empowers users to craft their personalized stickers, incorporating text, drawing, and the option to overlay other stickers. Once a custom sticker is created, it automatically saves in the user’s sticker tray after being sent.

Already accessible on WhatsApp Web, this feature is set to roll out on iOS 17+ in the coming days. For users on older iOS versions, the ability to edit existing stickers is available, but the creation of new ones will not be supported. To leverage this creative capability, users can follow these simple steps:

  1. Open the sticker tray on WhatsApp by clicking on the sticker icon located on the right side of the text box.
  2. Select “Create Sticker” and choose an image from your gallery.
  3. Customize your sticker by selecting a cutout, adding text, drawing, or overlaying other stickers to achieve your desired design.
