PMLN’s govt had ended terrorism, loadshedding in Pakistan: Nawaz Sharif

Nawaz Sharif

In his inaugural election rally in Hafizabad on Thursday, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, accompanied by Saira Afzal Tarrar, asserted that Pakistan could have achieved the status of an ‘Asian Tiger’ if he had not been ousted from power.

Addressing the crowd, he claimed that his government successfully tackled terrorism and resolved the issue of loadshedding, only to be removed from office over allegations related to not receiving a salary from his son.

Energized by the enthusiastic audience, Nawaz Sharif inquired about the source of their passion and even expressed his delight by dancing with the crowd. He pledged to eliminate any disparities between Lahore and Hafizabad if given the opportunity to return to power.

Despite the brevity of his speech, Nawaz Sharif handed over the microphone to Maryam Nawaz, marking a relatively short but impactful address. The rally took place just 20 days before the upcoming general elections.

The PMLN leader, who returned to Pakistan after nearly four years in exile in October of the previous year, has faced various obstacles, including legal challenges. Despite these hurdles dissipating, he has maintained a relatively low profile since his return to the country.
