KABUL (Daily Point) — An aircraft, initially reported as an Indian passenger plane, crashed in the Zibak district of Badakhshan province, Afghanistan, according to the Badakhshan Police Command. The plane had gone off the radar the previous night and crashed in the high mountains of the “Artillery” area in Zibak.

Contrary to earlier reports, Afghanistan’s TOLO News, citing Zabihullah Amiri, the head of the Department of Information and Culture of Badakhshan, clarified that the crash occurred in the mountains of Topkhana, adjacent to the districts of Kuran-Munjan and Zibak in Badakhshan province. A team has been dispatched to investigate the incident.

While initial reports suggested the plane was Indian, subsequent information indicates that it was a charter plane flying from India to Moscow, possibly carrying six people. The crash, as reported by local residents, occurred on Sunday morning. Authorities are actively assessing the situation.
