(Daily Point) — In the midst of persistent social media defenses claiming that criticisms against Imran Khan are either false or outdated, journalist Imran Riaz Khan has fired back at the former cricketer, accusing him of an inability to withstand critique.

In a recent vlog uploaded to his YouTube channel, Khan reiterated his stance that Afridi often makes missteps, particularly at critical junctures.

While acknowledging Afridi’s revered status, the journalist asserted that individuals celebrated by the nation should refrain from making statements that offend public sentiments.

“Those regarded as heroes should possess the courage to speak truthfully without fear,” Imran Riaz remarked. “Failure to do so will lead to consequences.”

The controversy ensued when a social media graphic purportedly attributed a call from Afridi to make an example out of individuals involved in a certain event on May 9.

Additionally, a resurfaced video from 2022 depicted Afridi suggesting that ‘institutions’ should be empowered to grant NROs.

Known for his outspoken views, Imran Riaz Khan joined the chorus of critics targeting Afridi, alleging that the cricketer had never stood up for Imran Khan and consistently appeared to support Shehbaz Sharif.

Furthermore, Khan insinuated that Afridi harbored ulterior motives, cautioning against tarnishing one’s reputation for the sake of governmental positions.

Afridi, in response, urged journalists to verify facts before making claims, differentiating them from mere trolls. He accompanied his rebuttal with a screenshot of Imran Riaz’s remarks.

While acknowledging his admiration for Imran Khan as an inspiration for his cricketing career, Afridi affirmed his stance without specifying which statement he was referring to.

“My position remains unchanged due to falsehoods and propaganda, which neither benefit Tehreek-e-Insaf nor Imran Khan,” Afridi concluded.
