Hajj Ministry in Saudi Arabia issues key update regarding Umrah visa

Umrah Visa Hajj

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia recently disclosed the expiration date for Umrah visas for foreign pilgrims, coinciding with the nation’s preparations to welcome Hajj pilgrims in the upcoming months.

As reported by the Saudi Gazette, the ministry declared that the expiration date for Umrah visas has been extended from Dhul Qadah 29 to Dhul Qadah 15. This means that foreign Umrah pilgrims are required to depart the country before Dhul Qadah 15.

This decision is part of the government’s efforts to ensure a seamless influx of pilgrims to the sacred cities of Makkah and Madinah from across the globe for the annual Hajj pilgrimage.

Additionally, the ministry clarified that the validity period of the three-month Umrah visa will commence from the date of issuance, rather than from the previously stipulated date of entry into Saudi Arabia. This clarification was issued in response to numerous inquiries received through X, formerly known as Twitter.

According to the ministry, the Umrah visa remains valid for three months from its issuance date, ensuring it expires no later than Dhul Qadah 15. This arrangement has been coordinated between the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The decision to set the expiration date on Dhul Qadah 15 was made, advancing it by two weeks (14 days) from the initially announced expiration date of Dhul Qadah 29,” added the Ministry.
