Staff abducted in PB-50 Qila Abdullah polling station

Polling staff have been abducted by armed men at multiple polling stations in PB-50, Qila Abdullah, Balochistan during the by-election on Sunday, as reported by a private TV channel.

The kidnapped staff were from polling stations number 33 at Girls’ Primary School, number 72 at Government Primary School, number 96 and 99 at Government High School Norak, and number 97 at Rural Health Center Norak.

Mirwais Khan Achakzai, the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PMAP) candidate for the constituency, urged the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to promptly recover the abducted staff and ensure a fair and transparent election process.

Violence disrupted by-elections in Lahore and other Punjab cities, resulting in the death of a political worker and injuries to several others.

In Ferozewala, Zafarwal, and Lahore, clashes broke out between rival political groups, leading to violent incidents.

In Zafarwal’s PP-54 constituency, a senior citizen was fatally injured in a clash between PML-N and PTI workers, prompting the suspension of polling at Kot Naju polling station.

In Lahore’s NA-119 constituency, a dispute between workers of Sunni Ittehad Council and PML-N at Polling Station No. 171 near UET led to physical violence. Police arrested four individuals to restore order.

In Ferozewala’s PP-139 constituency, a confrontation outside Government High School Nizampura escalated into gunfire, injuring three people. Two suspects were arrested at the scene.

The injured man from the Zafarwal incident succumbed to his injuries in the hospital after being hit on the head with a wooden stick.
