(Web Desk Monitoring) — Bill Gates-founded tech giant Microsoft reportedly experienced a significant outage affecting its services, including its search engine Bing, AI-powered chatbot services, and Copilot, according to ZDNet.

On Thursday, users of Microsoft Bing reported that the search engine was down, while others noted slow performance in Copilot and ChatGPT search.

The Redmond-based company has invested billions of dollars into AI services by partnering with the startup OpenAI. Both companies leverage each other’s services to enhance user experience as the technological competition intensifies.

The outage also impacted the search engine DuckDuckGo, which relies on the Bing API, though it is not owned by Microsoft.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, Microsoft stated it is “working to isolate the cause of the issue.”

OpenAI also reported on its status page that “ChatGPT’s ability to search the internet is being affected.”

According to the publication, Bing, Copilot, and ChatGPT were functioning without issues, but DuckDuckGo experienced disruptions.
