(Web Desk monitoring) — Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, has once again criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), accusing the party of advancing an India-sponsored agenda within Pakistan.

His remarks followed the revelation of PTI’s Information Secretary Raoof Hasan’s alleged contacts with an Indian journalist, which Tarar claimed exposed the true intentions of the Imran Khan-founded party.

Hasan, who was arrested on July 22 by Islamabad police, is accused of leading a digital media cell that allegedly spread propaganda against Pakistan and undermined its integrity. The arrest occurred on the same day that Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, urged the nation to stand against militants and so-called “digital terrorists.” Following his arrest, Hasan was handed over to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and later transferred to the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) for further interrogation in a terrorism case.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Tarar accused PTI of using its social media cell to wage a campaign against the Pakistan Army, revealing that the investigation into Hasan had uncovered financial support from Indian sources. He branded PTI as a “foreign-funded” party, alleging that it had damaged Pakistan’s foreign policy through its actions, including the mishandling of a diplomatic cipher. Tarar further asserted that the party’s leaders were using “foreign lords” to undermine national unity.

Tarar also highlighted the recent revelation of Hasan’s communications with an Indian journalist, suggesting that these messages reflected PTI’s broader approach. He claimed that the party’s social media operations were deeply intertwined with the country’s adversaries, suggesting that this connection sheds new light on the violent events of May 9.

The minister condemned the PTI as a “foreign-funded coterie” that has crossed all boundaries in its hostility towards Pakistan. He accused the party of actively working against the country’s national interests and its military, and of collaborating with external forces to bring terrorists back into Pakistan.

In a broader critique, Tarar pointed to the so-called “Faiz-Niazi-Bushra collusion” as having caused significant harm to the nation. He noted that the former director-general of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), General (retd) Faiz Hamid, had recently been taken into custody over allegations of land-grabbing and other offenses, with a Field General Court Martial process initiated against him. Tarar accused the retired general of being a pawn in Imran Khan’s efforts to create political instability in Pakistan, further alleging that the “Faiz-Niazi connection” attempted to fabricate the perception of a rift within the military.
