(Daily Point) — In a recent announcement, tech giant Apple has delivered disappointing news to its customer base, revealing plans to deem several old iPhone models as obsolete. This decision is expected to prompt users to consider upgrading to newer versions of their mobile devices.

For those still holding onto these older iPhones, the time may have come to contemplate a transition to a newer handset.

Among the models included in the list is the iPhone 6 Plus, a significant release in 2014 featuring a 5.5-inch display. This marked a notable advancement for the iPhone series, which had previously offered smaller handsets.

Here’s the comprehensive list of iPhones slated for obsolescence by Apple:

  • iPhone 3G (China mainland) 8GB
  • iPhone 3G 8GB, 16GB
  • iPhone 3GS (China mainland) 16GB, 32GB
  • iPhone 3GS (8GB)
  • iPhone 3GS 16GB, 32GB

  • iPhone 4 CDMA (8GB)
  • iPhone 4 16GB, 32GB
  • iPhone 4 GSM (8GB), Black
  • iPhone 4S
  • iPhone 4S (8GB)
  • iPhone 5C

With these devices being classified as old, Apple has stated that there will be no further hardware or software support provided for these models.

According to Apple’s official website, products are classified as vintage if they ceased distribution for sale more than 5 but less than 7 years ago. Once discontinued for sale for more than 7 years, products are deemed obsolete.

In the transitional phase between vintage and obsolete, users typically receive software and hardware updates. However, Apple discontinues all hardware service for obsolete products.
