Bajaur tribal elders vow to full support with Pakistan Army for Peace

PESHAWAR (Daily Point) — Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, political and tribal elders representing Tarkani and Utmankhel expressed their support for the Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies during a jirga convened in Bajaur.

According to the reports, the assembly saw active participation from district administration, political figures, religious leaders, and local representatives, all contributing ideas to address the ongoing unrest in the region.

A committee, comprised of jirga members, was established with the objective of engaging in dialogues with key authorities, including Corps Commander Peshawar, IGFC North, IG Police, Chief Secretary, and other significant officials.

The primary focus of these discussions is to collaboratively find solutions and bring an end to the prevailing unrest in Bajaur.

The jirga unanimously stressed that achieving peace and stability in the area is crucial for the well-being of the local population.

All political and tribal leaders expressed their dedication to providing full cooperation to the Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies.

While praising the government’s decisive actions against illegal residents and acknowledging positive outcomes, the jirga members also voiced criticism of Afghanistan’s alleged facilitation of TTP terrorists.

The elders applauded the robust measures taken by the Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies to combat extortion, smuggling, illegal foreign exchange activities, and other illicit businesses.

The joint efforts of the jirga and the commitment of local leaders underscore a collective determination to work towards lasting peace and prosperity in Bajaur, aligning with the interests of the community.
