Canada to offer jobs to thousands of Punjabi from Pakistan

Canada Canadian Visa Job

LAHORE (Daily Point) — In a recent meeting between Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi and Canadian High Commissioner Leslie Scanlon, an informal agreement was reached for Canada to accept thousands of additional workers from Punjab.

Naqvi expressed optimism about the agreement, stating that it would provide Pakistani youth with opportunities for employment in Canada.

The discussions also extended to collaboration in other areas, particularly environmental protection, a crucial issue given Lahore’s current status as one of the most polluted cities globally.

To formalize the agreement, a delegation from the Punjab government is scheduled to visit Canada in the coming weeks.

Previously, Canada had announced a significant reduction in visa processing time for Pakistani applicants. Canadian Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Sean Fraser revealed that the processing time for Canada’s visit visa for Pakistani citizens will be shortened from 802 days to 60 days. Fraser also pledged to further expedite the process, aiming to complete visa processing within a month.
