LAHORE (Daily Point) — Daniyal Aziz, a leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), on Sunday issued an apology to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif during a meeting in Islamabad.
Sources revealed that Nawaz Sharif expressed his concerns over Aziz’s behaviour, stating, “Daniyal Aziz Sahab, whatever I saw in the media was disappointing. It would have been better if you addressed your concerns to me directly.”
Aziz explained that he couldn’t submit an application on time due to medical treatment. Nawaz Sharif mentioned Ahsan Iqbal, noting his longstanding dedication to the party and country.
Nawaz Sharif had been tasked with resolving the dispute between Ahsan Iqbal and Danyal Aziz within the party. Maulana Ghiasuddin, a defected MPA from Shakargarh, also attended a ticket interview. When asked about rejoining the party, Ghiasuddin replied, “I only returned to the party today.”
Three members of Nousheen Iftikhar’s family from Daska sought party tickets. The PML-N intensified its election campaign after the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced the election schedule.
Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif chaired the parliamentary board’s 11th meeting in Lahore, conducting interviews for national and provincial seats in the Bahawalpur division. Candidates were interviewed for seats in districts Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, and Rahim Yar Khan.
