Sunday Islamabad market

(Daily Point) — A devastating fire erupted unexpectedly at Islamabad’s Sunday market, engulfing 700 shops and causing severe financial losses.

Victims, including shop owners who spoke to Daily Point reporter Saqib, expressed bewilderment over the fire’s cause, lamenting losses amounting to millions of rupees.

In an exclusive interview with Daily Point, one shop owner highlighted previous similar incidents that went unaddressed, emphasising the dire economic challenges exacerbated by inflation. “Our hard-earned savings have turned to ashes,” he lamented, noting the lack of government assistance before and after the tragedy.

Efforts to seek aid have so far been in vain, leaving the affected merchants grappling with the aftermath of this devastating fire.
