(Reuters) — In a collaborative effort announced on Wednesday, Google Cloud (GOOGL.O) and Mistral AI have joined hands to facilitate the distribution of the Paris-based generative AI startup’s language models through the tech giant’s infrastructure.
According to the joint statement, Mistral AI will leverage Google Cloud’s AI-optimized infrastructure, including TPU Accelerators, as part of the partnership. This collaboration aims to conduct extensive testing, development, and scaling of Mistral AI’s Large Language Models (LLMs), all while adhering to Google Cloud’s robust security and privacy standards.
Large language models, such as LLMs, undergo training on vast datasets to generate text and various other forms of content.
In a significant development, Mistral AI, founded by former Meta (META.O) and Google (GOOGL.O) AI researchers, disclosed on Monday that it successfully secured 385 million euros ($415 million) in its second funding round within seven months. The funding round was led by prominent investors, including Andreessen-Horowitz and LightSpeed Ventures.
