Judge Muhammad Bashir’s vehicle allegedly caught up in aerial firing

RAWALPINDI (Daily Point) — A vehicle belonging to Accountability Judge Muhammad Bashir was reportedly involved in an incident of aerial firing on Wednesday.

The occurrence took place near Rahimabad Chowk within the jurisdiction of the Airport Police Station.

The incident unfolded as a man named Shayan allegedly discharged a firearm into the air. Judge Bashir, who had just concluded a hearing on the Toshakhana case involving Imran Khan at Adiala Jail, was returning when the incident transpired. Fortunately, Judge Bashir and his accompanying personnel narrowly escaped harm, as the gunfire did not specifically target any “important personality,” as confirmed by the police.

According to the official police statement, the alleged perpetrator, Shayan, was traveling with his family when a dispute erupted. Subsequently, he exited the vehicle and fired shots into the air. Authorities revealed that Shayan is suspected to be under the influence of drugs, specifically ice, during the incident.

The gunfire led to a traffic jam in the area, but the police were able to apprehend Shayan Ali. He has since been taken to the Airport Police Station, where investigations into the matter are currently underway.
