(Daily Point) — WhatsApp users in Pakistan can now access Meta’s AI chatbot, ChatGPT, following its long-awaited launch.
The update has been rolled out as a server-side change, so there’s no need to manually update the app. However, it’s advisable to keep your WhatsApp updated to ensure you have the latest features.
To interact with Meta AI, users can tap on the new search bar labeled “Ask Meta AI or Search” at the top of the screen. Alternatively, tapping on the new Meta AI icon above the chat button will also initiate conversations. Similar to ChatGPT, Meta AI is designed to respond to user queries typed as prompts and is powered by Meta’s open-source Llama 2 AI model.
The chatbot offers a variety of default prompt options such as “Help set fitness goals,” “Solo travel benefits,” and “Home maintenance 101.” Users can also type in their own prompts or even communicate using emojis.
Additionally, Meta AI has the capability to generate AI images within minutes. Although these images are of limited resolution and are labeled as AI-generated, they can be easily downloaded and shared like any other media on WhatsApp. Meta AI is also functional in group chats.
Interestingly, on WhatsApp Desktop, Meta AI appears as “AI Character,” but it functions identically to the mobile version. Messages with the chatbot are synced across all devices, ensuring continuity in conversations between mobile and desktop platforms.
