Apple’s iPhone lineup has long been characterized by a standard model, a Plus version, and two Pro variants.
However, reports suggest a significant overhaul is on the horizon for next year. Instead of the anticipated iPhone 17 Plus, rumors indicate the arrival of an iPhone 17 Slim, promising a departure from conventional replacements.
Contrary to expectations, the latest speculation proposes that the iPhone 17 Slim will not only replace the Plus model but also outprice the iPhone 17 Pro Max, positioning itself as the most expensive offering in the lineup. Furthermore, it’s anticipated to boast superior specifications compared to even the esteemed iPhone 17 Pro Max.
This prospective shift resonates with Apple’s recent emphasis on sleek design, exemplified by the remarkably thin M4 iPad Pros, which have surpassed even the iPod Nano in slimness. It’s plausible that the iPhone 17 Slim will continue this trend, potentially becoming one of Apple’s thinnest offerings.
Several sources have likened the iPhone 17 Slim to a significant design leap akin to the iPhone X, suggesting a marked departure from existing models. As 2025 approaches, it seems ripe for a design refresh. Notably, the iPhone 17 Slim is projected to be notably thinner than any previous iteration and might feature an aluminum chassis.
Numerous design alterations are reportedly under consideration by Apple, including a reduced Dynamic Island, a centrally aligned primary camera, and a display smaller than that of the iPhone 15 Plus. However, these proposed changes remain subject to finalization.
