ISLAMABAD (Daily Point) — The expected date for the presidential elections in the country is reportedly set for March 9, according to media sources.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is expected to release a formal schedule outlining the specifics of the upcoming election.
It is noteworthy that the constitutional five-year term of President Dr Arif Alvi concluded on September 8, 2023. Despite this, due to the interim caretaker setup in the country, Dr Arif Alvi has continued to discharge the responsibilities of the President of Pakistan.
As per constitutional provisions, he is slated to remain in office for one month following the election. The Election Commission’s formal schedule will provide more details on the process leading up to the presidential election on March 9.
