LAHORE (Daily Point) — Former accountability adviser Shahzad Akbar stated, “I am not aware of Abdul Aleem Khan’s arrest, whether it was by agencies, General (Rtd) Qamar Javed Bajwa, or came from elsewhere.”

He said during interview at “Farrukh Warraich Show”, Shahzad Akbar, a close associate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s former premier Imran Khan, revealed that he was strongly against the arrest of IPP President Abdul Aleem Khan. “I spoke this during the cabinet meeting. It is a different matter that since he bought the channel, I have been harassed, not allowed to take a sigh of relief. During the PTI regime, I was the supporter of Aleem Khan, because he supported the party in difficult times,” he added.

Shahzad Akbar also revealed that Abdul Aleem Khan faced allegations of possessing assets beyond his known income at the time of his arrest, a matter he believes remains unexplained in the country. “Once, an officer of NAB told me that during former prime minister Mian Nawaz Sharif’s tenure at NAB, he asked me what he should answer regarding his assets. Mian Sahib then said, the question, if you’re asking me, I cannot even answer to Allah Almighty.”
