LAHORE (Daily Point) — During a meeting on security arrangements for the Chamos winter festival in Kalash Valley, Chitral, a decision was made to prohibit YouTubers and vloggers from creating videos.

The meeting, chaired by Qaiser Raza of the Chitral Scouts 146 Wing at the Bamborat Officer’s Mess, included representatives from the police, tourism department, media, relevant institutions, local elders, the Qazi of the Kailash tribe, and hotel association representatives.

The Chamos winter festival, scheduled from December 16 to December 22, prompted a detailed review of festival arrangements during the meeting.

Authorities instructed institutions to ensure cleanliness, security, and provide necessary facilities for tourists. Notably, strict measures were implemented to prevent YouTubers and vloggers from recording videos without permission. Violators will face legal consequences to preserve the religious traditions of the Kalash tribe during their festivals.

Officials also emphasized vigilant monitoring of suspicious individuals by security agencies. Lower Chitral Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Imran Khan stated, “A ban has been imposed on tourists/YouTubers on making videos and interviewing Kalash women without permission during the valley festival. Legal action will be taken over the violation of Section 144.”
